how to keep C5 from generating thumbnails??

the manual says that there is a “generate thumbnail” checkbox on the video import dialogue, but…it’s NOT there.

the manual says that there is a “generate thumbnail” checkbox on the video import dialogue, but…it’s NOT there.

It´s a “generate thumbnail cache” checkbox, and It IS there…
Maybe if you use the updated manuals that match your updated version of Cubase, (or use a not-updated software with the non updated manuals, and things might match again… )

As I said, use the updated documentation, and it is not mentioned anymore. Your used documentation is probably valid for 5.0 or 5.1.1, where the checkbox is exactly as explained in the manual. The complete video engine changed with V 5.5, which is IIRC also mentioned in the updated documentation…
