Hello, I am doing some engraving for a publisher whose books were previously notated in Finale. The Dorico scores are coming out too dark to match with their other scores, and I’m wondering if there is some way to make the staff size thinner, or everything just less dark? See image for comparison. Thanks!
You can decrease the staff line thickness under Library->Engraving Options->Staves. You could also try to change the Music Font under Library->Music Fonts.

Yes, you’ll just need to make the staff lines thinner in Engraving Options, as said.
Changing the Music Font won’t do it; except by using the font’s default engraving prefs – which just change the Engraving Options.
It has to be said that Finale’s lines were very thin compared to traditionally engraved scores; and not necessarily desirably so.

I’ve always hated Finale output for being flimsy and lacking contrast. But, well, de gustibus…
