How to merge MIDI event clips without overlap

hey guys i have long notes inside each midi event but then i chop them up on the playlist and then would like to glue them in at the end once I have all the timings right. when I press Glue (4) and highlight all of them they merge but the problem is the notes are now overlapped underneath eachother. how do i merge it without overlap? below is a s/s

Not a hundred percent sure what you mean, and the screen shot doesn’t really show either… So you have several MIDI parts (not events  those are the single MIDI notes in Cubase speak) and you move those around so that they may overlap, and after the glue some notes extend into the next one?

In that case, it has to be solved differently, either you have to shorten the notes before to the right length, which can be rather tedious, or you can use the “MIDI→Functions→Delete Overlaps (mono)” function afterwards, which is much easier.

thanks that was exactly what I was looking for! Highlight all the notes → MIDI → Functions → Delete → Overlays (Mono/Poly)
