How to merge two Dorico Projects

Hi altogether
is there a easy way to merge two Dorico Project which have two similar sets of players and Layouts but some Inst in Play-Mode are different, in “Project 1” I have “Atomic Big Band! The Horns” from Straight Ahead Samples and in “Project 2” I have Noteperformer5 ,SuperiorDrummer3, Trilian , Keyscape and Halion, I want to keep all instrument and names in “Project 2” but I want to add all players and layout and Instruments from the Play-Mode from “Project 1” so that I have altogether in “Project 2”.
It is also important that all Chordsymbols in “Project 2” are kept also all settings I made, the settings in “Project 1” are not important.

Thank you very much for your help

this is “Project 1”

and this is “Project 2”

The best way is probably to export one as a flow and then import that flow into the other. When importing a flow, you’ll be able to influence how Dorico deals with players.

This is not necessary. You just open one project and then go to file>import>flows and you can chose the second file, chose the flows you want to import. You are asked if you want to merge all instruments or create new ones.

Just yesterday I was able to restore a project that way which after a crash lost all vst instruments (all VEP instances) . I could import it in a previous unfinished version of the project already having all instruments

thank you all, for the good answer, so if I want to keep the players from the importing Project with their VST’s, i have to choose to create new ones, at the end I want to have all players in the same Project, the Ones already in the Project which are playing with Noteperformer5 and the new Ones playing with “Straight Ahead Samples”, but I guess I have also to change the Endpoints and PlaybackTamplates , I am not quiet sure also the Expression Map, but I guess so.
My Goal is to combine everything from this two Project except I don’t want to change all the ChordSymbol settings , the layout settings , all the Library settings and the ParagraphStyles setting.
Actually the “Straight Ahead Samples” I just want to use for playback and (because they sound more jazzy) Noteperformer5 I want to use while I am writing, because there is lesser delay and it got strings etc….
So I want to have e.g. Trumpets from Notperformer5 for writing and
Trumpets from “Straight Ahead Samples” for sounding.
Hope I could explain my idea a little further

Let us say in project X you have 10 players and 10 VST sounds linked to them.
And in project Y you have the same 10 players but 10 different VST sounds linked to them.
After importing project Y into project X (selecting Create New Players) you will have 20 players with their VST sounds.
In Setup Mode make sure, all 20 players are visible in both flows.
In Write mode you can decide which player is using which sound - by either leaving it in their system, or by copying and pasting it into the other player.

Thank you very much, great explanation.
So it is possible to copy a player with layout from one Flow to another Flow ?

No, that is not possible. Once you merge both flows, you will have to adapt the layout in Engrave Mode.
The best advice I can give you: try it out, experiment, start with copying one player to the other player.
