How to play few bars or selected material in repeat mode

It would be nice to be able to play few bars or selected material in repeat mode like in Cubase via a repeat or loop track see uplaoded image of cubase

Maybe in a new version of Dorico

Loop playback has already been requested like… once a month at least! Please search the forum

Thank you for sharing your feedback that loop playback would be useful for you to have in Dorico, @pmimran .

So what’s your point !
If it is so often requested it means that it seems useful to many users and there’s a chance to see it implemented one day , so it is a good new for all of us isn’t it ?

its a pleasure

The point is that (on this forum) feature requests need not be repeated. And if you really feel the need to add something, best to add it to an existing thread.

Daniel recently commented that he would rather hear duplicate requests than have users feel they couldn’t or shouldn’t share their feedback. It only takes a second to thank someone for posting, express that they’re not alone in thinking that (if applicable), and if you’re up for it, find a previous thread on the topic and link them to it. It may be that someone’s terminology doesn’t quite match existing discussions.

I run a few Discourse forums and mostly the published etiquette is to spend a little effort searching before posting. That’s considered pretty normal. And besides, hey! you may find the question has already been answered or noted. We are not bashing you up OP, but this is such a frequently asked feature that it ends up just being noise, and does not accelerate the implementation from the team.

In fact, the guideline is in the Forum FAQ:

https://forums.steinberg.net/faq

One way to improve the discussion is by discovering ones that are already happening. Spend time browsing the topics here before replying or starting your own, and you’ll have a better chance of meeting others who share your interests.

Also, some workarounds are given in various topics.

And, this is complex. Cubase already has MIDI to work with, but Dorico has to generate it all on the fly, and that makes the Dorico case much more difficult. Which is why we don’t have it yet.

Sorry, @pmimran , I didn’t mean to offend you. I’ve been spending too much time reading everything here… and the forum has rules, but it’s perfectly understandable that they’re not known.
Of course your request is perfectly valid. And, as a mere user, I would benefit from it as well.
This request has not yet reached the top of the pile, so I guess we’ll be reading this some more times

Neither do I mean to offend.

But if I ever mention something I desire such as continuous string gliss more than once I do get reprimanded! So you only get one shot at a duplicate topic.

As for getting users to read the Discourse forum guidelines and FAQ’s - forget about it! :frowning:

  • 1 for an efficient way to loop playback a region in order to fine tune expressiveness !!

From the forum guidelines:

Rather than posting “+1” or “Agreed”, use the Like button.

I’m not a moderator or a list policeman although I sound like it! The problem with +1 is that it adds nothing substantial. A like is more effective, and all the likes tot up and can be seen in the one place on the topic. That makes it easier for Steinberg staff to assess the popularity of a request rather than having to read through topics that sometimes become very long. Just click the heart icon.

I’m probably oversensitive to these matters as I spend a lot of time each day attending to Discourse forum behaviour on my forums. Sorry! And again, to emphasize, nothing personal.
