How to protect monitors speakers from high signals

Hi, I use a UR824 to input say a dry electric guitar to a Tonex amp sim in cubase and also to output to my monitors. I naively put a brickwall limiter on my control room insert to protect my monitors bvut of course the output is subsequently affected by the level of the physical master volume knob on the UR824. I use active Focal Shape 65 monitors.

What is the best way of protecting the speakers from damage while being able to listen at reasonable volume levels? Also maybe there is a way to measure the levels going to the speakers. i think the speakers themselves may have some sort of inbuilt protection. If so is this reliable. They were expensive (and I love them!). If the speakers will be ok is it still wise to to have a brickwall limiter at say -1 on the main stereo out when mixing down. I’ve started using the maximizer plugin on the final stereo mix to help ensure I’ve a healthy level.

Thanks Simon
