when I create something in Dorico the volume is so low that I have to put my computer volume 3-4 times normal to hear it. I have velocity set to average aroune 100 and the mixer volumes set to max. Where else can I control this ?

Hi @suecliff, to be sure all your mixer levels (also the Master volume!) are as you want for current and future projects, there is a Preference and a Menu. Set the Preference as needed (try to put the slider completely to the right, this will stay for future Projects) and use the Menu to apply this settings to the current project:

If this doesn’t help, could you describe more in detail which VST and/or Playback Template are you using, and if this occurs in all projects and with all instruments, etc? Could you provide a simple Dorico Projects that shows this issue?

Good morning Christian, as promised I checked out your suggestions first thing this morning and you were right on! The problem has been resolved. I’m new to Dorico and there a lot of things to ‘digest’ and locate. This preference item is just what I was looking for, but just couldn’t find.
