Hi all,
Since iOS18 was released last year, those who have ButterSynth will have noticed it can no longer be recorded as part of a mixdown or even have the track frozen in Cubasis 3, this is a third part issue, not Cubasis.
I experimented this evening and found a way to record BS successfully, here is my method:
1. Prelaunch ButterSynth then launch Cubasis.
2. Set midi track 1 to No Instrument, Change NO MIDI OUT to ButterSynth in Routing
3. Open Audio track 2, change MONO INPUT to Inter App Audio and select ButterSynth.
4. Solo both tracks, enable audio monitoring on track 2 (speaker icon)
5. Set track 2 to record, any midi recorded on track 1 can now be recorded directly to track 2. All Automations are included.
If more than one instance of BS is being used in your project, just replicate my above method for each BS instance (1 midi and 1 audio track at a time).
Good luck.
Mike
[EDIT]
A big thank you to @Samuel_Lindeman for pointing out a far more simplified way of recording BS……open Cubasis SETTINGS-MIXDOWN/FREEZE and enable Real Time Freeze and Mixdown, job done
