I’m curious: Why do you want the rest to appear before the note?

(I’m primarily a wind player, so a lot of guitar notation things confuse me. But if there’s a reason for this, I’m interested to learn it.)

I don’t know the current sample, but it can be a version of ‘centred full bar note’, which I think was used in some older music. This option has been requested before.

I was trying to recreate the notation so it matches what’s shown here.

Also, I am trying to place the half note before the first eight note, but keeps ending between them. I’ve tried to change some settings, but I don’t know where to look. I bet it’s an easy fix.

In Engrave. Change the voice column index of the half note to zero, and the voice column index of the 8th note to one.
