How to remove a copy of Cubase I don't want to try?

I somehow have a copy of Cubase 14 Pro “trial” on my account, I think I somehow accidentally downloaded it while trying to reinstall an old Cubase AI 4. But, I just purchased Cubase Elements 14 and when I went to install it, Pro was installed. How do I remove Pro and Install Elements?

I don’t know how it works since I have Pro, but since Cubase 14 there is only one installer. Which variation opens when you run Cubase depends on your licence. So if you uninstall Pro, you will uninstall LE, AI, Elements and Artist along with it.

Either use pro till the trial expires or if you prefer you can hold alt while you open Cubase and it gives the option to open as Elements

I think the OP means how to remove them from the user account?

I’d love to see the expired trials gone, but I can’t fine a way to do it:

EDIT: ok, I might’ve misunderstood the OP

Don’t think it’s possible. Especially if the trial didn’t expire.
I couldn’t understand why Steinberg Activation Manager likes to keep a record of the trial products I previously installed. For example, Dorico 4 Elements is activated (proof I bought Dorico Elements), but at the same time I also have an item with a “Buy…” button (for the same product). That’s a bit weird.

If you use a Mac, go to Apps folderand move “Cubase 14” to the bin. If you use a Windows computer, go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features.

If you want to install Cubase Elements, download SDA:

Since Cubase 14 all versions are the same executable, just the license is different. So no need to do this uninstall/install game.

I don’t think you’re correct.
Otherwise, why the different versions in the SDA?

Because they are collections of various product sets. The main Cubase executable is one single piece and just looks at the license. Just the included products are varying.

You can try for yourself, if you have a Pro license hold the ALT key and launch Cubase. You will see this

Now you can choose what release you would like to run, no deinstall or install.

You need to contact Steinberg support to remove it, I had to do the same last year. Hopefully once they release a download/licence/library all in one manager at some point, this will be possible as it’s a headache to have three apps dealing with (for most), one Steinberg application!

You are talking about the entries in the Activation Manager, right?

That is really a bit messy, if you have several trials. Last I heard was, they are working on it.

I’m guessing here, so here goes…
The trial for any Steinberg product is a “one of a kind” event, that is, you can only trial it the once. Otherwise, we would all be trialling it for ever, just renew the trial every month. To prevent this, the trial is stored in your account so that you cannot trial it a second or subsequent time. This is why I have a Dorico 5 trial (expired) in my account from last year’s August sale.
IIRC this was also the case with the dongle.
