How to remove rests between tied notes

I have a bar of 6/8 and I want my chord to last for the entire bar. I have entered it as 2x dotted quarter notes that are tied. However there are rests after each note and I’m not sure why that is? How do I remove them?

I see two staccato tied chords. The dotted quarters are obtained either by pressing 66, or 6 and dot on your keyboard, or clicking on the appropriate areas in the UI (write mode left panel)
The staccato dots are entered via shift-2 or the accent panel in the UI.
If you’re new to Dorico, make sure you go through the First Steps in Dorico pdf, you’ll earn a great deal of time

Since there are also staccato dots on those notes - did you perhaps mistake the staccato key command for the dotted note key command?

Edit: @MarcLarcher beat me to it
