How to Remove the Spacing Between the Notehead and the Stem

Hello yet again! Is there a way to remove the vertical spacing that’s between the stem and the notehead? I want the stem to be directly on top of the notehead. Is there a setting somewhere for this? Thanks for the help!

I think you need to edit the notehead set. Library->Notehead sets.

See, I was going to make the “Stem up SE: X” position “1”, but wont that off center the notehead from the other notes in the score as well?

Yes, for all notes using that notehead. That’s what I thought you wanted. You could create a new Notehead set and use just for the notes you want.

Which font is this?

If it’s not Bravura, sometimes Bravura’s “default” stem data gets used for other fonts. You can fix this by re-applying the Music Font. (You don’t need to check the boxes for fonts and options.)

The one called, “noteheadDiamondHalf”. The Unicode is U+E0D9.

Interesting! What I did was I created a custom notehead set using the Bravura font. I selected the “Notehead” category in the range section in the right-hand panel, chose “noteheadDiamondHalf”, and went from there. I don’t replace noteheads for my projects. I use the ones that come with the music font I’m using for the project.

Did you resize it? Then you need to adjust the stem position.

No, I didn’t resize the notehead. I kept it at 100%. So, is there a way to adjust the stem position for notes with this specific notehead?

Yes, like I showed you in the first answer. Adjust the stem position for your custom notehead set.

Are you sure you used Bravura for the notehead glyph? Looks different here.

Yes, but when you add a notehead you can select any font in the notehead editor, even if you use Bravura as your default font.

As seen in the screenshot I just uploaded, I chose the Bravura font.

I accidentally typed the wrong Unicode I originally used in this reply and didn’t realize it until now. Using the one you just showed me works. Not really a fan of the design, but I’ll take it for now.
