How to reset Midi Remote back to default script/settings in Cubase 12 Pro on Mac?

I have made edits to my Novation MK3 Launchkey 61 template. I am having trouble changing these buttons back.

Is there any way to reset all of these to default novation script? I tried deleting my MIDI remote file in my Cubase folder and load up from there and it didn’t help.

Hi,

Delete the Surface Editor Script from the MIDI Remote Manager > Scripts, or delete the JSON file.

I just had to do this on Cubase 14 on Windows and it is not well documented so I thought I would add some information here hoping that it may help someone in the future.

It SEEMS to me that when you add a factory MIDI Remote Script to a project, Cubase saves a COPY of the factory one in a User Settings folder.

On Windows it is here:

C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Steinberg\Cubase\MIDI Remote\User Settings

You have to delete this or move it to the desktop so that Cubase goes back to the factory MIDI Remote Script. I think you can delete the User remote in the MIDI Remote Manager in Cubase but I think unless you remove the MIDI Remote from the project, Cubase just saves another copy when you close it. I might be slightly off on the exact functionality but I found it easier to close Cubase and go to the folder and delete the file. Then, the next time I opened Cubase the MIDI Remote was back to factory settings.
