How to reset volume (or any automation) on a duplicated track

Hi

I duplicate a track and it inherits the automation from its source track. If the volume was low on the source track, the duplicated track inherits the same state of the volume.

Is there a smart way to reset the automation of the duplicated track when it comes to volume or any other parameter, for that matter?

I tried “remove parameter” on the volume automation track, and it was hidden, but the volume values stayed the same, when I clicked the “show/hide automation” arrow-down-button at the bottom of the track itself.

Thanks

Ctrl-click / Cmd-click resets a value to its default. You can click the volume fader while holding the modifier.

Hi Johnny. I appreciate your reply. I’m not exactly sure where to Ctrl-click. Mind sending a screenshot?

Sure thing.
You can click onto either of these two areas:

Which modifier is to be used can be set up in the Preferences:

Thanks.

I think I couldn’t reset the volume before, because “read automation” (the green R) was enabled. But the thing is, although I reset the volume, my volume automation curve on the automation track stays unaffected (it stays the same).

So, when I drag around the volume curve points, “read automation” becomes enabled. And then I can’t reset the volume using Ctrl+click.

Maybe I misunderstood the workflow here?

My expectation was that when resetting the volume on a track, then its volume automation curve goes back to its default value without me having to manually drag it and adjust it.

So, if I want the volume point (marked with green arrow) to go back to 0 value, which is the default (marked with yellow arrow), how would you do it easily without having to drag the numbers back to 0? Ctrl+click does not work for me in this situation.
