How to resolve this problem? Steinberg Activacion Manager

From time to time, my Dorico and Wavelab won’t open because I get this message. I need to uninstall and reinstall them. Why does this happen?

Uninstalling/reinstalling Dorico or Wavelab won’t be necessary - restarting the computer should be enough.

However, it would be interesting to know what’s going wrong with SAM. For that you would need to create a diagnostic report - as the message suggests - and upload that here.

I sometimes get similar messages when opening Dorico. I beleive it can be related to how quickly the computer opens the various pieces of the Dorico system. Recently I switched from Windows 10 to Windows 11 (and added a NAS unit connected via Ethernet) and my computer has slowed a lot in many operations, which is what I expect is occasionally causing this problem to appear.

In my case, making sure windows to not cover each other up, if the problem does not resolve itself, I can usually ignore the SAM warning screen and quit it once Dorico appears.

Can give the tô send the diagnostic

?

You can just post it here, or PM it to me or email me at r dot lanyon at steinberg dot de.

It might be worth upgrading to the most recent SAM first - you’re on 1.7.1 and we release 1.8.0 this week: Steinberg Activation Manager | Steinberg

I Sent the email now

I’m a bit confused - the screenshot in your first post is from 10/10/2025, but the logs you’ve sent me are from 30/08/2025. Are those logs definitely from the same machine that has the problem?

Did you try upgrading SAM to 1.8.0?

Yes, I’ve already updated to version 1.8.
I sent you two logs: one old and one new.
So you can follow the history.

Could you start up the Steinberg Activation Manager and show me a screenshot of it?
