I’m writing for drums and I was wondering if there is a way I can select all undesired rests from a system at once. I upload a screen shot for you to see the music. Basically I want to select all the up rests without having to command-click them all.
Thank you very much in advance!
EDIT: It turns out I overlooked the oh so little word “up”, and since I do not want to disseminate wrong info, you’d have to use James´ method, of course…
I’d use the system track (grey band above the topmost system), select everything with the mouse, checking the selection box and hit “remove rests”.

If you want to delete only certain rests, I do this:
- Select all measures with undesired rests
- Use the jump bar to filter for up-stem notes
- Filter for rests
- Alt-Del(ete) to remove the rests
(Repeat as needed if you have multiple up-stem voices)
