How to separate similar-frequency instruments?

Dear Community,

I am currently working with records from the mid 20th century. I would need assistance for separating the following instruments:
Hurdy-gurdy

Eflat Clarinet

Do You have any idea how to separate them since they share a lot of same freqencies?

Thank You for Your assistance in advance.

Yours sincerely:

András Németh

If those are the only two instruments and you want to separate them, you can try extracting the clarinet using MVSEP – MVSep Clarinet (Demo). Then you are theoretically left with Hurdy-gurdy. If you also want to reduce noise, you can try DeNoise by aufr33, also from MVSEP.
I haven’t tried the clarinet model, but it’s worth a try. Up to 16 bit it’s free.
I use MVSEP myself because I don’t just separate pop instruments - and I’m very happy with it.

Good luck András

Dear solstudio,

It worked very well, thank You!!!

All the best,

András
