So I updated to Cubase 15 and of course, as usual all settings are wrong (read everything is at default setting).
This time I created and copied my profile from Cubase 14, but as I was fiddling with it I though about one thing I keep forgetting about. Key Editor.
Every time I open Key Editor its default note length is a full note.
Most of the stuff I program/edit is drums related, so I mainly use 8th or 16th notes.
Is there a way to set up Key Editor to start with an 8th note as a default length?
To be honest I haven’t tried to create a template and see if it will remember but I would rather have a more permanent setting that rely on a template.
As far as I know, this setting is stored per the given Key Editor instance. If you create a new one, this inherits the setting of the last opened one. So if you close the Key Editor with the 1/8 Grid and you open a new one, you should get 1/8 Grid.
Btw, is your Note Length linked with the Grid or is it set independently?
I just had a look and in C14 it always reverts back to full note. No matter if I use template or just create empty. If I change it to Quantise Link it reverts back to full note.
But when I tried it in C15 it actually stayed linked….
There is a good chance I messed up something when I was playing with settings and now I don’t remember what it was.
I will just update my templates and see how it goes.
