How to set up my MIDI system to find all 16 channels under Cubase 14

Hi, I got a problem with with my MIDI configuration… Impossible to assign on more than one channel… Thank you to indicate me how to bypass this particular and surprising problem… I work with Cubase 14 and use Fireface UCX sound card / JV 1010 expander

You have to set your JV1010 to multi-timbral mode.

On the expander itself, I’d say. On the JV-1080 there is a Patch mode and a Performance mode. Only the Performance mode receives midi on all 16 channels. Maybe it is the same on the JV-1010, too?

In theory, you can set it from Cubase. You can send the given SysEx message to JV-1010 to switch to the given mode. (I believe, there is a SysEx message.) But it’s much easier to set it on the hardware.

To use the JV‑1010 as a multitimbral module, you need to put it in PERFORM mode (Performance).

Step 1 – Switch to Performance mode

The JV‑1010 only has a few front‑panel controls, so mode selection is done with the VALUE knob and the front‑panel indicators.

  1. Look at the front panel LEDs and find the mode indicators: PATCH, PERFORM, RHYTHM, GM.
  2. Press the VALUE knob repeatedly until the PERFORM indicator is lit. This selects Performance mode.
