After using mixer configuration for a few years (never found a quick effective way to use it), I ended up with a very simple workflow:
all folders closed (track folding key command)
show the channels you need to work on just ticking the visibility check
Yes, no automation, all manual, but simple and effective.
This work up to Cubase Pro 14, from 15 if i close a folder in the MixConsole Visibility, all the contained channels desappear.
Ok I thought: all the tracks set to visible and show the channels I need just opening the folder containing them… yes and no, when you open 2 or 3 folders (like DRUMS, GROUPS and MASTERS), I start scrolling the mixer horizontally and the Visibility panel vertically, very time consuming…
Any idea? Am I missing something?

Do you mean “Without Opening the folder” in the a) project or b) the mix console?
a) Yes, and you can set up 4 different mixer views with keycomnands, as you probably know.
b) No. But you can open and close the folder in the visibillity tab. When opening the folder in the visibillity tab and click hide (ticking off), you can tick show for individual tracks/channels in the mixer view.
I think this is quite flexible, but maybe not what you want?
I’m talking about the mix console. I know about the feature you are referring to, I’ve been using mixer configurations until Cubase Pro 13, but I found them not very effective during production, because every time I was creating a new track Cubase was adding it to my existing configurations. I made a macro so that it was not happening automatically, but still I had to add every new track to the exact configuration manually, not very effective.
That’s why from Cubase Pro 14 I started using a different workflow: no configuration, just all the folders (not synced) closed in the Visibilty section on the left, making them (the channels inside them) visible just by ticking the view sign.
From Cubase Pro 15, selecting the view sign on a closed folder doesn’t make the contained channel visible/invisible. I can’t understand if I can go back to what I was doing in Cubase 14, I still thing is a more clean and simple workflow…
