I would like to write for lead guitarist comping and solo lines in same score line. How I can have in solo bars only tablature stave but not in comping lines. Tablature is not necessary for comping parts of score line.
Hi! Can’t you use the staff visibility tool? You need to insert a break to access it, and have the signposts set to “visible”. Double click the signpost : you can decide which staff is shown. Use another break to modify this setting later.
It seems that this is not the solution. I am not working with full score layout I am working with single guitar layout. I couldn’t get anything to happen.
Do you mean something like this?
I use two guitars, set system breaks to force a new system when the other guitar comes in and hide the empty staves via layout options/vertical spacing/visibility of empty staves. (I use the German version, so the exact wording may be a bit different)

You’ll first need to enter System Break even though it’s not strictly necessary.
I tried also this on first round but as you see in dialog there is no tablature staff at all? What I can do?

I use TWO guitars, one for tablature and one for notation so I can hide the staves without music in them.

Derhannes thank you very much. I managed to solve this problem according to your instructions. I also managed to solve the same issue using by two flows. By doing this way it is little bit more complicated but there are maybe more options available. Thank you!

Well, to be honest, it was not really correct because I did not remember whether you could select the notation and the tablature independently in the visibility tool… and unfortunately you showed me it’s not possible. Then next step was to use two instruments (with different settings in the layout options>Players>Fretted instruments) of course, but that was not my answer 
In any case, I’m glad this problem was solved!
