How to specify double sharp in Dorico 5

My first serious attempt to use Dorico, trying to move a Sibelius score across the hard way, by retyping everything. I am up to bar 63. Basic note entry is incomparably easier once I know where to look, but I have hit my first difficult issue. An old thread (2017 - 2021) recommended pulling up the ## (key signature) item on the right hand menu bar to get a box with a menu of double etc accidentals. My version gets just an empty text box with the ## label and no reaction when, with the f# to be double-sharpened already selected, I type in “x” and hit return. Is this recommendation outdated, or are double accidentals unsupported in unpaid versions? All suggestions welcomed, but I much prefer menu operations to keyboard shortcut hieroglyphics.

Make sure you have the Panels selected (rather than the Popovers)…

Instant success. Much appreciated.

You can also change the enharmonic spelling of a note:

A useful idea to keep in reserve if the first preference fails.
