Quite often, you will see a passage marked ‘Stac.’, instead of a dot assigned to every note. I had no problem adding this to the playing techniques, but how do you tell Dorico to stop the staccato? This usually isn’t indicated in the players part as it’s usually obvious. The next passage would have slurs or have long notes or something where the player knows the staccato has ended.
Try adding “nat.”
Once you add “ord.” or “nat.” you can hide it, so as to not clutter up your score.
Except in this case, you’d want to indicate visually that the staccato was no longer being played…
