How to stop Cubase from copying files when using the sampler track?

hello everyone,
When I drag an audio file from the media browser to a sampler track Cubase automatically copies the file to the project folder instead of referencing the original file… Unlike when dragging to the arrangement there is no option to choose whether to copy or use the original… This created an issue for me because when I decide to export individual tracks to save them as presets using the export tracks function, the exported track references the copied file in the project folder instead of the original one. Later if I move or change the project location that track cannot be used independently since it references the project folder instead of my original files which are stored in a static database location on my computer. So is there a way to change this behavior

I Already found a solution to this issue and im posting it in case other run into same problem . For anyone who may face a similar issue, here’s what worked for me:
If you want to use a file in the Sampler Track without it being copied to your project folder, don’t use the Media Browser, that will always copy it automatically to your project and use that As a reference in your sampler trAck. ( I couldnt find an option to disable that) .Instead, do this:

  1. Create a new Sampler Track
  2. In the Sampler Track window, click on “Import Audio File”
  3. Select your file: this will reference the original location without copying it to the project folder.

by doing this, the file stays in its original location, and you avoid issues when exporting or moving projects.
