How to tie diminished second

Hello, I need to tie an f-natural to a g-double flat (in the same voice). Thanks for the help!

Hi @kevinnitschpiano, for enharmonic ties in the same voice, you need first two write the whole tie chain as F (=the first note of your tie chain), then in Engrave mode you can change the second note to the enharmonic desired note using the Respell Using Note Name Above (or Below, depending on the situation) shortcut:

Wow, Christian_R, I had no idea this could be done. I’ve just been using a slur in this situation rather than a tie, but your solution is far better. Thank you!

Indeed, this functionality is to be found in the Manual (in the Notes sections but unfortunately without examples) under

Respelling Notes:

and

Ties:

(@Lillie_Harris, it would be helpful to possibly implement, into the Manual search engine, something like “enharmonic tie chain” and “diminished second tie” and maybe add an example to the landing topics pages. Sorry if I missed something)
