I am doing a bit of a system refresh on my WIN 11 PC.
I have a number of historical projects and, most importantly, I have 50 or so fiels which are the source of personal templates, many of which have a number of audio files. Not quite sure if these have exact images in some kind of Cubase Templates folder created not by me but by the app. All in one Folder called “Cubase All Projects”.
I would like to transfer these to a new bigger drive, dedicated to Cubase.
I have had trouble in the past, especially with finding audio after moves.
Q: What is the best way to do this please, without having templarte issues?
Q: Is it possible to avoid the dreaded Cubase can’t find XYZ?
If projects are in their own folders and you always make sure to copy any newly imported audio to the project folder then you just copy and paste the lot and everything will be the same.
The missing files problems usually stem from the fact you import files from other locations and don’t copy to the project folder so it looks to that original location that may have been moved or deleted.
The only way to ensure that doesn’t happen would be to open each project and use the prepare archive function in the pool to collect all files to the project folder, then you can just copy over the project folders.
