How to transfer Preferences and Presets from Cubase 10 to 10.5

How can I transfer Preferences and Presets from Cubase 10 to 10.5 ?

This method from Steinberg website doesn’t work since windows cant find “%appdata%/Steinberg” folder:

“Windows

Close all programs.
Press the Windows logo key + R simultaneously to open the ‘Run’ command prompt.
(Windows XP: Select ‘Run’ from the Start menu.)
In the command line of the ‘Run’ window, enter this path: %appdata%/Steinberg
Locate the folder which is named the same as your Cubase/Nuendo version.”

%appdata% is a system variable and equates to:-

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming

So you need to go to:-

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg

It’s very odd that a windows system variable is failing though, try pasting %appdata%/Steinberg into the windows explorer address bar and see if that works.

Everything should copy across automatically though? I wouldn’t copy stuff without checking first that you have an issue with 10.5.

found the preferences in this directory. thank you!!

strange tho, many of the preferences like custom color selection for pre/ post fader sends didnt get transfered…

also none of the custom vst presets I saved show up.
are they saved in some different folder or file ?

figured it out, I had to click on “include folders and subfolders icon”.
little werid tho, I have to click this icon every-time for the preset browser to show my custom presets for vst instruments
