Is it possble to turn off this dark light when I selected the event?
I just have red highlight on borders which is great to me, but I would love to turn this dark color off.

Sorry, this is not possible. If an Audio/MIDI Event/Part is selected, it always becomes black.

This is the standard Windows Inactive (greyed out) colour.
I know - letβs add an Option to change it to something else!

@Alek515 The selection color is a combination of event opacity and the chosen background color.
You can set events to appear transparent or near transparent to achieve the effect you would like by adjusting Preferences>Event Display>Event Opacity to a low value. In this case, if you have chosen a light colored project area background the event will appear semi-transparent with a red highlight when you select it. But if you are using the default color scheme the event will still appear dark when you select it because of the dark background. Of course, there may be other downsides to using a low event opacity setting.
