How to use Roland Fantom as main keyboard, and record its sound too!

I’m trying to configure Cubase to use my Roland Fantom as main controller keyboard.
It is confusing to get it to work well, but the most strange thing is when I tried to record audio from the usb sound source it records allways very loud and deformed, even if I lower input levels, volumes etc. It allways sounds wrong… Help!

Update, I found an usb level adjustment in the fantom had to bring it down to 40%, and now sounds are recorded at a normal level.
