How to write simultaneous notes in a drum track

Dumb question I realize, just can’t remember how to do it. How do I get a snare note and a high hat note on the same beat?

Just make sure the caret is at the position you want the note and press the note down (my high-hat is on the E space above snare so o push E)

Thanks! The actual problem was…I had insert mode enabled, and that something causes the note to be inserted in the next position.
