How to write triplets in Score Editor?

As a Dorico user, i find the score editor of Cubase painfully awkward in use. Granted, I should learn it before complaining but it’s quite different from inputting notes in Dorico.
How do I write a simple eight-note triplet in the Score Editor? When I choose eighth-note triplet as the duration and input notes from the keyboard, I get dovetailing dotted eight-notes under the triplet, ie. notes of non-triplet eight-note duration in a triplet-eighth grid. Where do i change that?

Hi,

Enable the Tuplet option. If you keep it set to 3:2, then you are writing Triplets.

Sure but the durations of the notes are not trplet-eights, only the attack points are. How can I change that?

Hi,

The lengths are triplets. See attached screenshot. I created it in the Score Editor. In the Key Editor, you can see that they are triplets in length (you can also see the Grid setup).

I assume you entered the notes with the mouse. I should have said I am trying to enter the notes from a midi keyboard (in Step Entry). Tuplets don’t seem to work in that mode.

Hi,

In case of Step Input, you are right, this is not possible.

OK, thanks. Well, that’s too bad.
