How would you handle orchestral woodwind sections in Dorico Pro 2 ?

Hi,

Now we have a comprehensive divisi handling, how would you write standard 3-woodwind sections on 2 staves, given that the 3rd one should change one’s instrument (for example : flûte to piccolo) ?

This is fairly documented in the literature. The actual material is very important in making the final decision. If they’re playing a rhythmic unison, you could condense all three into the same staff, even. When the third is doubling, it gets its own staff.

Also, be aware that while Divisi has been implemented, Condensing (the opposite) has not been implemented yet.

Search the forum for Condensing - much has been written on it in the part few days.
