Edu discounts are for a first time purchase only, not for updates or upgrades, so no.

Yes, products bought at education price are eligible for updates and upgrades to new versions.
If you bought a single-user license at the education price, you can update to a later major version of the product by buying the appropriate regular single-user update. By updating or upgrading your education version, you receive a regular full version that is licensed for commercial use.
