Hello, I’m having trouble with some features of Cubase 15 Pro.
When I try to play an audio file in this window, I don’t hear any sound.
However, there’s no issue with the track itself.
Seeing your Audio Connections > Control Room panel, few comments :
No Phones channel in the Control Room : is this wanted, and do you have the Edit > Preferences > VST > Control Room > Use Phones Channel as Preview Channel option activated, by any chance ? If so, you should have an existing and connected Phones channel to hear something related to media listening - otherwise untick this option.
Beside this, I’m wondering why do the Monitor 1 channel is set to Not Connected. Usually, when the Control Room is activated, this one should be connected, and I would associate it with your Main Output Left/Right hardware outputs. It’s the Stereo Out bus, which is in the Audio Connections > Outputs panel, that should be set to Not Connected. Additionaly, I would also set the Cue channel output to Not Connected, at least for now.
Could you give us more infos about the Ext. 1 channel and its purpose ? I never saw until now a Control Room channel associated to inputs…
In a nutshell, your Control Room configuration looks rather strange and I’m not sure that its use is mandatory, in your case.
Hello @cubic13 and thank you for your quick response.
As for this part in the control room, I’m trying my best, but I have to admit that at times I’m completely lost. I’m literally flying blind.
I’ve followed a few tutorials, but that was before I switched to the Minifuse 4 and the Keylab Essential 61, and I have to say that each time, it just adds more complexity to the settings.
Everything was working perfectly, and then a Windows update—and probably a few extra VSTs—and it turned into a total mess.
I’ll follow your advice and provide more details on the settings. To be honest, I’ve never been good at keeping things simple, but I’m learning as I go.
Thanks again.
Well, I think this must be the right setting—I mean, I’m not really very good at this, but I’ve managed to get sound from the demo WAV files, and everything seems to be back to normal in the MiniFuse Control Center.
If there are any changes I need to make, thank you in advance.
Thanks again @cubic13 for listening.
Seems better now, and by the way, as I always used the Control Room as a tool to manage different outputs. From which, I checked on my end and just learned that it also manage various inputs : always learning something in this forum, this time, thanks to you. I’ll probably never used this, but still…
About the Talkback channel, I would rather use a mic level input instead, but as it’s not directly related to the issue at hand…
