I’m working through the Dorico “first steps” documentation and I cannot create a dotted duration. I can create the note duration but when I click on the dotted note icon nothing happens. It doesn’t work for any duration I choose. Fast-double typing a number doesn’t work either. I can only add the dot after I input the note. In fact, the dotted note icon alway applies to the previous note, even if it is on when I enter the next note. E.g. I input a half-note, then dot it, then select 6 to change duration to a quarter note. The dotted-note icon is still on so it appears that my next note will be dotted, but it does not. Now the dotted note icon if off because what I just entered is now the previous note. Can you clear up what’s going on here?

The First Steps guide has a new note about pitch before duration, but not this preference – I’ll get that added too for clarification.
