I cannot open vst in DAW but it can stand alone operation in HALion7

I download a sound source named novel piano but I cannot open vst in DAW . It can stand alone operation in HALion 7. Where the whole vst file is? I can not found it.

Novel Piano is a library for HALion Sonic and HALion 7. If the installation is done correctly, you will be able to see under the HALION tab in Steinberg Library Manger that it is well and truly installed. The Move button allows you to move its physical location, the hard drive of your choice. You can uninstall it with the Remove button and finally you can see its current location with the Details button.

This also means that it is available in Cubase with the use of the HALion Sonic or HALion 7 VSTs or outside DAW with the HALion Sonic and HALion 7 applications.

sry. I move the novel piano (from library manager) into DAW vst identification file which I set and move the piano vst file(opened from HALion sonic file)into vst identification file but I still can not open the piano in DAW

I’m having trouble understanding. If Cubase was installed correctly, you should have easy access to HALion Sonic and the Novel Piano library.

Here’s a procedure with images that might help.

1 - Create an empty file and make your Cubase window look like this.

2 - Click the VST Instruments button and you’ll see this.

3 - Click the icon named HALion Sonic. and scroll down to see the Novel Piano icon and click it.

4 - Double-click one of the presets and Cubase will automatically create an instrument track.

6 - Once the track is created, click the HALion Sonic icon on the far left or the small icon resembling a piano to open HALion.

Reading the manual or watching tutorial videos on YouTube would be very helpful.

It appears to me that the problem is that you are intent on opening Novel Piano directly in a DAW - and it will not, and is not supposed to, work that way.

Novel Piano is a library not an instrument. It is meant to be played by/through either Halion 7 or Halion Sonic. It cannot be opened directly in a DAW without Halion 7 or Halion Sonic.

It should not show up at all in the DAW VST list as it is neither an effect nor an instrument. You will likely need to fix whatever file changes you made to force the DAW to recognize Novel Piano as a VST.

Rene’s detailed instructions will work. Alternately, in simplest terms, in your DAW, first open Halion 7 or Halion Sonic, and then - within Halion - open Novel Piano.
