I can't change Default Project Folder in Preferences>General

I am on the Dorico Preferences > General page. I want to change the directory for the ‘Default Project Folder.’ When I click on ‘CHOOSE,’ something flashes for half a second, but no dialog box opens. I am using a Mac M1 Macbook Pro running Sequoia 15.2 and Dorico 5.1.8. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?

Have you tried restarting Dorico?

There is a problem affecting some users introduced by Apple’s latest macOS update that causes the file chooser dialog not to appear. Quitting and restarting Dorico will solve it, at least for a while.

We’ve not seen this problem in-house, but it has been reported by users since 15.2 was released. We believe the problem is in macOS itself, since Dorico hasn’t changed and yet the behaviour has nevertheless changed, but we don’t have any insight as to what might be going on or how it might be fixed.

Thanks for the detailed information. Restarting Dorico did resolve the issue, indeed.
By the way, I have not yet experienced this issue with any other app.
The good news is that I rarely need this dialog box.
