I bought a Cubase 14 Pro, and I have a problem. I can’t record sound to audio tape. When I turn on the recording, only a straight line is displayed in the audio track. Please give me a solution.
Can you see input metered? What are you recording? How is it connected? What is your o/s?
When I upgraded Cubase 13 with 14 on one computer, I could record; on another, I couldn’t. I see input metered. I record via mic, other devices like Reason, or in Cubase from other audio tracks. I use UR22C Interface with Yamaha Steinberg USB Asio.
If input is metered on the track when record armed but the track recording is silent it might be microphone privacy settings of the o/s.
First of all, I don’t know what o/s means. The same thing happens to me when I want to record from Reason Studios. I use a PC and Windows. When I record with a microphone in Wavelab PRO 12, it works.
o/s = operating system which we now know is Windows
I guess microphone access must be turned on if Wavelab is working but please double check as usual fix for meters but no record is to do with this.
System/Privacy & Security/Microphone/Let Desktop Apps access your microphone…is Cubase 14 in that list?
Yes, Cubase 14 is on the list.
And if you open the recent activity list underneath does it show 14 has accessed the mic today??
Assuming yes, maybe you could screencap your audio connections and your track inspector showing input selected.
It doesn’t access today mic in Cubase 14. If I may remark something strange. I compared the settings in Cubase 14 on a computer that records well and the same settings in Studio on a computer where Cubase 14 does not record
We need to see your settings, can you post the screencaps?
Sorry, I can’t send you screenscapes.
I can only write it.
Sorry, I can’t send you screenshots. I can only describe it.

You should have other inputs that are not labelled as streaming. Try to set those up in audio connections and choose as track input.
Another input is URR22C Input, but it does not work
I finally found a solution. I had to activate the input in TALKBACK and MONITOR in the AUDIO CONNECTION window in the CONTROL ROOM.
Thank you for your patience.
I’m having the same problem Cubase 14 pro is not on the list but Cubase 11 is. 12 and 13 worked
My instrument tracks work but the audio tracks will not come through the control room. It’s so frustrating I spend more time trying to get it to work that I actually do getting anything done with this stuff.
Give some more details so people can help you.
What do you mean by instrument tracks…vsts? And when you say audio tracks will not come through control room what does that mean? it’s not clear if you mean live monitor or playback of audio.
And which list exactly is C14 not on?
Yes instrument tracks and vsts are the same when I add a track I’m going to add either an instrument or an audio track. All of the audio tracks are routed to stereo out. The control is stereo in. None of the audio tracks are coming into the stereo in of the control room. What is c14 and what does that have to do with it? Thank you for responding
I cannot get the sound to come out of the audio tracks into the control room through live monitoring or recording
C14 is cubase 14 of course…you said it wasn’t on the list??
We need to establish if anything gets recorded or if you have input to the track…so forget the control room for a bit and focus on the recording tracks and input connections.
Show screencaps of your audio connections inputs, and of your track inspector with a correct input selected in the routing. Say what interface you use if not obvious from the audio connections panel.
Tell us if you see any meters moving when you play your instrument or use a mic??
