I connected my VST to an electronic piano, but the VST program freezes

When I press a key, it should produce a sound,
but sometimes only the VST program freezes.

What’s usually the problem?
Other VST programs work fine.

This is a stage piano.

I’m playing an electronic piano, and the VST program freezes.
When I press the keys on the electronic piano, no sound is heard.
However, when I use the mouse to press the keys on the computer monitor, the keys produce a sound and work.

Perhaps the problem is with the VST itself? What is it?

I assume what you mean with VST program is the VSTAudioEngine process, correct?

And the stage piano is connected bia USB to your PC and only sends MIDI note events to Dorico/VSTAudioEngine and then the in Dorico assigned VSTinstrument plug-in does not respond/makes sound, also correct?

Which VSTinstrument plug-in are you using?

Can you please elaborate a little more on your setup, maybe even post a project file that exhibits the strange behaviour?
