I did something wrong and need help

Windows 11, Cubase Pro 14.0.40

For some reason my project starts at bar 79.
I have no idea how that happened, but I can’t get it back to bar 1.
Any suggestions?

  1. Open project settings (SHIFT+S),
  2. Under Project Time Displays, set Display Bar Offset to 0.

Hi Izak,
Thanks for your reply.
It is at 0.

Can you try turning off the arranger track (the power button on the arranger track) to see if it shows bar 1 again? Wanted to confirm if it’s got to do with the arranger track.

I see no difference.

Strange. I would temporarily disable all tempo, signature and arranger tracks, then see if you can set your left location marker position to bar 1.

Hi Steve,
Disabled arranger and tempo track, deleted signature track, but no luck.

When you try to move your locator, will it just not let you type in an earlier bar than 79?

That is correct, Same problem in Nuendo and Cubase.
Other projects open without a problem.
So it must be project related?

If you’re in a hurry, I’d export your files to a new project, nuke it from orbit and start again.

Failing that, someone may pop up who’s had a similar issue. Good luck.

good morning.
if your project starts at measure 79 this may be because you saved it with the Left Locator at measure 79, move it to the beginning and when you save the project it will start at ( 1 ), but if it is at the beginning and does not start at ( 1 ) then click on the transport panel in the Go to Left Locatore Position option, this will be OK. look at the figure.
Good luck and good creations.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply, but that is not working.
Weird!!!

good morning.
manually move the Left Locator to be at the measure ( 1 ) as in the image and of course it remains there, save the project and load it again and it should be in position ( 1 ) if it is not where it should be then something else must be, I had such a problem at some point and overcame it like this, I defined the limits left and right and if it did not start from ( 1 ) I clicked on the transport panel in the Go to Left Locatore Position option, and it was transported to the beginning, look at the figure.
good luck and happy creating.

manually move the Left Locator to be at the measure ( 1 ) as in the image and of course it remains there. THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE, it goes as far as 79
Also in the transport panel I can’t change it, when I type 1 it changes to 79.

hello, I’m back
if I understand correctly you are in Arranger Track and it is possible that you have set it to start at 79 where as I see in the image you presented you have set the ( A ) section to start at ( 79 ) there you have the problem you have to set your work to start from the beginning ( 1 ), better fix the Arranger Track and I think you will be OK I see ( A ) is at ( 79 ) correct its length to start at ( 1 )

Hi,
I understand what you mean, but there is no way to edit, 79 is fixed.

Can you ease create a Ruler Track and set it to Samples? Then please post the screenshot again.

Hi Johnny,
Please see screenshot.
Btw I solved the problem by moving all tracks into a new project.

Hello.
I’m back, if you deactivate by clicking on Arranger Mode, see ( B ) in the image and then try to intervene and change the length in ( A ) this may work and finally you can activate Arranger Mode again see ( B ), it is possible that it has stuck and that way you can work.
