Before using Spectralayers 11 (this has been the same for all versions) I always save the project as 9/10 it will cause some sort of crash or audio bug.
For example I add it to a track , edit the audio, bounce the audio then remove it from the track and sometimes the audio is muted or the track will think Spectralayers is still loaded. Its been this way in all versions, its just very unstable and I often think twice before using this even though its a great piece of software. Be great if it could be made stable before the next upgrade.
The 2 issues you describe happen after bouncing, and after bouncing SpectraLayers has no control at all over the audio or UI behavior, so it’s more likely host issues rather than SpectraLayers issues.
What host and what version of that host do you use ?
I agree with the bugginess, but that is ARA2, not SL specifically. I have 2 other ARA2 plugins and they are all equally buggy, unfortunately. The solution I found for my work is to always work on one event at a time, and always “make extension permanent”. Not too different from RX connect, but more stable and with the chance of “undoing” when I need to.
Now, as Robin stated, AFTER bouncing that’s with the DAW already I never had any problems after bouncing.
I’m using latest build cubase 13 and I agree it’s probably an ARA thing. Either way it restricts my use of spectralayers. Probably best using it in wavelab edit audio then render in place. Is spectralayers available in wavelab?
Just as an possible external editor, if you set it up accordingly, but not directly integrated.
I’m using SL11 standalone with very stable experience…all my buggy issues I have reported on this forum
1_selecting too much with the Harmonic Selection tool (essentially user error) created too sluggish to use SL;
2_Unmix Transcription= crash (I have not yet gotten this to work)
3_Display Settings not saved=Robin said it was repeatable and fixed in the upcoming update
Otherwise, SL11 has been working great in standalone
@ctreitzell did you report the unmix transcription issue somewhere ? I don’t remember seeing a thread about it

Robin, I will say I haven’t tried very hard to jump thru the hoops properly on Unmix Transcription
we will need it soon as we’ll need to review and and amend our subtitles sometime next month
sorry, I probably post too much as a new user on here
