The color scheme feels a little more confusing, but by far the biggest visual problem for large arrangements I think is the lack of region names in the minimal zoom level. It’s now only usable as a larger project overview, whereas before it was possible to do all the work in that mode. It’s really frustrating to have that feature taken away, and even makes me seriously consider going back to Logic. Sigh.

Really hope Steinberg puts this back, as it doesn’t seem like a big deal development-wise, but it makes a huge difference in workflow.

surely if that’s such a big issue for you, buying a bigger monitor (and not having to use the minimum zoom level) would make more sense?

massive monitors are quite cheap these days.

It doesn’t bother ANYone that you can’t see the beginnings of events when you have the event names showing on them, on smaller-sized tracks? No, making all of my tracks huge is not a proper solution. This is huge for me since timings are such a big part of what I do – when I’m dragging events around to line them up, not being able to see the first note of a MIDI part, for example, is bad design. Does anyone agree that this is not a smart design? This is a case of “If ain’t broke don’t fix it.” Everything else I can live with/get used to.

Steinberg: at the minimum, please please please go back to the way the events used to be labeled (or give us the option to). It’s the logical thing to do so that no parts of the events are ever covered up by the text label. Can’t imagine why anyone would actually want that.

I fully agree on this too. I just realized how MUCH I am used to / happy with the previous behaviour! I tried my best to get used to the new one, however in the end I had to completely switch off the “Show Event Names” option because when On, it is so distracting and in general unpleasant…
SB please let us at least choose between the new and the old behaviour.
