I have been stupid...

A few weeks ago I bought another pc because mine had some problems.
I installed VST 5 and connected the protection key to the printerport, but Cubase didn’t start.
The key could not be found.

I searched and tried and did all sorts of stuff but nothing worked!
I even planned to buy a special USB>LPT-cable but the shop owner said that wouldn’t work either.
Then I remembered that I had a loose circuit board with an extra LPT-port lying around here, so maybe I could put that into my PC and connect the key to that one!

I took the key off the printer port and checked if it fitted. It did!
But then I saw it. HOW COULD I HAVE BEEN SO INCREADIBLY IGNORANT?!? HOW COULD I NOT HAVE SEEN THAT!?

So what had happened? When disconnecting the key from my old computer, one of the small screw/nut things came off and was still on the screw of the key itself, therefore I wasn’t able to put the key on the printer port totally.

And that’s why the port couldn’t find the key.

You’re all allowed to laugh at it. It’s one of the stupidest things I’ve ever done.

What a silly shunt

Hahaha, not really, I bought it totally new, before Europe switched to €, it’s VST 5.1 R1 and it still works!

(Yeah, as long as the protection key is put in properly)
