I love Variaudio on Vocals- am I crazy?

I have Melodyne Assitant, Waves Tune and Logic Pro (Flex Pitch). I only use pitch editing for slight vocal corrections. I am not a Melodyne expert by any stretch of the imagination but I am very familiar with all of these. I have to say, one of the main reasons I love Cubase is Variaudio.
I love the look, the ease of use, and it sounds more natural to me than other correction software. I get results quicker and better with VA.
I was dismayed to read the thread “Variaudio is a Con” where the OP postulated that Variaudio renders mistakes despite being correct sounding in real time during the editing process.
That thread was 161 posts or something. My question is “is there a consensus in Cubase Pro 14 that Variaudio works as it should?”
I’ve not noticed anything but I admittedly have never looked (listened) for mistakes after bouncing a mix out.
I am using VA only for slight correction on a per word or phrase basis for vocals. I rarely move anything more than a little.
That thread got me doubting my ears!
I am just not a fan of the Melodyne look and workflow- and the way I interact with it the results get unnatural quickly, whereas with VA, it just seems easier.
Was that thread much ado about nothing, or somewhat true but not relevant to the type of use case that I have with vocals? OR- is VA actually broken?

I’m still learning how to get the best results but I use it LIBERALLY on my vocals. Having it ‘built-in’ to Cubase makes it so smooth.

And I also use audio warp to slide stuff in time. (I haven’t had luck with the
auto align function)
