I need different chord symbols for different layouts

I’ve done some searching, and there are some old answers that fix this in some wonky ways, so I’m wondering if anything has been updated… I’m also relatively new to Dorico.

I’m writing a big band score where bass and guitar have slash regions and chords, but the piano part has little rhythmic punches that are different chords.

For example, bass and guitar are chumping away on a Db7, and I’d like the piano player to play a D6 (actually notes + a chord symbol on top of them, this is a transcription) on the and of 1.

I don’t know how to make the chords disappear on the piano part without making them disappear on the bass and guitar parts. And I can’t add the D6 chord symbol on top of the piano part without it copying on to the bass/guitar parts.

To have local chords for one instrument, instead of pressing Enter after you’ve entered in the chord, press Alt+Enter. This will create a chord only in that instrument or will override whatever is already there.

You need to hide chords that you don’t want to see - not delete them. I have a shortcut for this but I can’t remember if it is a factory key command. Do you know how to hide items? The toggle is in the Properties panel.

I can select individual chord symbols and toggle “Hidden” in Properties and they disappear in Write mode, but they still show up in Engrave mode.

That doesn’t sound right. Can you attach a screenshot?

Does a signpost appear when you hide a chord?
