You’re right. Let me rephrase that:
Imagine Native Instruments making something like Kontakt Collection, which is the 55GB library from the full version of Kontakt but with Kontakt Player instead.

I understand what you’re saying. I just doubt I’m the only one out there that has the Komplete Collectors Edition but I only every use Kontakt as a player and occasionally Battery. I install all the other instruments, but I honestly doubt I could name the others, except that you just mentioned Reaktor. I’m not even sure why I bother to install the effects to be honest. So, realistically, if what you suggested was a real product, I would probably but it, except that I need the full Kontakt in order to play 3rd party libraries. I keep trying to migrate away from NI and Kontakt but there is just to many libraries I would miss and new and interesting things keep coming out in Kontakt only unfortunately. I can’t remember the last time I opened Kontakt to actually use it as a sampler or synth to make a unique sound. For that I typically use Falcon or Halion. Or for simple stuff, just the sampler track.
That’s the crux of the whole issue.
I don’t have music clients, but communicating complex and unfamiliar scenarios is a big part of my job … and I find the best communication and client satisfaction takes place using the exact opposite paradigm than you describe.
The more simple and clear I can be, and the better I can translate complex scenarios into simple concepts, the more satisfied my clientele is.
Funny how different things can be! ![]()
I thought life was free!
No issue here. Steinberg said free update to Halion 7.5 from 7. I opened the download manager, there it was. Updated fine.
see there you go, nothing confusing about it,
