I want to delete licence from mysteinberg profile - who to ask?

I have accidentaly asked for Cubase elements trial licence. Now my Cubase AI installations says it has no valid lcience. All seems activated - in the activation manager as well as in the mysteinberg web, but it quits. As it seems it runs when activated with the now trial licence of the Cubase Elements.
Anyway - how the installer for AI / Elements [12] knows which version I have bought? I have multiple Cubase AI [now ver 12] upgraded from UR12/UR22 bundled Cubases. Need to handle it on multiple computers for DAW studio SW learning.

Launch Cubase and hold left ALT+Spacebar, then select the desired version

Thanks Janostudio - but how to select this permanently? In fact - if I activate this copy with one of my Cubase AI licence it still says “no valid licence” - even I’ve switched it to Cubase AI last time. When I dactivate all licences for this computer and activate that trial one - it runs. This is why I want to delete the trial licence from my mysteinberg profile. Why should it be using it anyway - I do not want to run Elements at all - all I want is Cubase 12 AI.

This does not follow.

Can you deactivate the Elements license in the Activation Manager?

If not, please post a screenshot of your Activation Manager. Blur the email address, but be sure to include the entire window.

This is what is going on:

  • I have about 20 Cubase AI licences upgraded from elicenser activation to SAM - so you would see many Cubase AI lines. I have 3 Cubase Pro 12 lines as well. Additionaly I have one line which says Cubase Elements 12 trial which is now activated.

But this computer has to run Cubase AI we got with UR22 soundcard - not Elements.

I can activate and deactivate this copy either with Cubase AI or Cubase elements without any problem. I can deactivate it on mysteinberg web site under “deactivate licences on unavaible computers”. But my point is - if I activate it with one of my Cubase AI licences it says it has no valid licence and quits. But if I activate it with the trial licence - which I asked for by accident - it runs ok. I don’t want to use any trial licence as our teachers are going to use it for teaching, not thinking about expiration etc.
I suspect SAM is going to check online and checks for the highest avaible licence for the installed product (ie. Cubase LE/AI/Elements) and if not found activated it does not allow Cubase to start. The fact it works with Cubase AI licence activated with ethernet disconnected convinces me so.
So I’d like someone deletes my Elements trial licence - I don’t need it - hoping that SAM would found only Cubase AI licences and would be satisfied with them…

Now just to check - I have activated it with Cubase AI licence:

and Cubase starts with no valid licence found - pointing me to SAM with:
nolicence

Eek! too much info. I’m just a user.

But, you can turn off automatic activation in the SAM settings. Have you tried to see if that solves the problem?

Steinberg Support are the only party that can remove specific entries.

Hi Steve - this is what I’m not ashamed to call “a race condition”

But now I have activated it with Cubase AI. Does it mean that SAM is working up with auto activations and goes up and up - within the installed products? Steinberg has a table on their web where Cubase Elements has more features than Cubase AI. So if I install Cubase AI/LE/Elements - SAM with auto activation checks for the highest possible product possible to run - in this case Elements? But if I switch auto activation off and activate only Cubase AI it stays with it?

Just started Cubase with the alt-spacebar trick and it shows only Cubase AI and Cubase LE - no Cubase Elements

In fact I still think deleting that Elements licence from my profile would do the trick anyway. As far as my deduction goes.

So switching auto activation back and forth indeed proves your point. As soon I switch it off Cubase starts, if I switch it on - it says no vlaid licence.

I’m going to let my teachers use it and check this solution. After that I will mark your post as a solution - thanks.
