Do I need Google’s Willow chip or something?
This is literally THE most powerful chip available to end-users to date, AND it’s overclocked.
I understand that audio cannot (at least yet) be processed on all cores, but even so, this preview should run on this machine. Even a single P-core should be plenty.
I should note that this failure occurred when attempting to preview the “Unmix Noisy Speech” process.

I get that as well. Seems like you need to select a small section to try out. I just gave up.
Well, that’s two anyway, and thanks for posting.
I’ve noticed that Unmix Noisy Speech never received the huge ‘nerf’ that Unmix Song and other prominent processes were ‘upgraded to’, and which resulted in multi-second “Initializing please wait” messages.
I like this very much.
Unmix Noisy Speech still grabs my CPU by the noodles and makes it perform (>90% fans/CPU continuous from click-to-completion), while Unmix Song seems to attempt to process in small ‘bursts’, resulting in the CPU/GPU (and fans) ramping up and down up and down up and down.
I doubt that Unmix Song will ever return to this, more-desirable behavior -it’s more likely that the rest of the processes will follow when weak systems struggle to accommodate them- but it sure would be nice to have an option that reads:
“My System Doesn’t Need This” or the like, so that those who wish to, might be afforded the choice to turn it off.
What kind of GPU you have? iGPUs are really slow.
I suggest you put your specs in your profile. Also how much memory do you have?
OCing can also produce throttling when temps are high..
Hey, thanks for the head’s up, I had forgotten that my profile was hidden. You can check out my (slightly out-dated) system specifications there. The only thing that is even remotely ‘lacking’ in my system is my last-gen GPU, although ‘lacking’ is a bit of an overreach. I’ve already balanced my system between temps and throttling. It’s well-cooled and it rarely, if ever, throttles (my system spec’s still show an old AIO cooler). Additionally, my impression is that Unmix Noisy Speech is not GPU-optimized the same way as Unmix Song. Instead, it is very CPU intensive and seems to ignore the GPU altogether. Regarding iGPU (yuk!), the F in 14000KF means no iGPU.
This is a Spectralayers issue.
I get the same.. I9 285k designed for DAW work by 3xs. 96GB ram. I’m purchasing a RTX3060 GPU next week and will change the prefs to run on that and see if that improves things
