Iconica Sketch Modulation Error

Hi there,
I’m having issues with notation in Dorico… I can’t hear anything! I could hear things fine but then thought I would change my VST to see if I could get a better sound. I couldn’t so I changed it back to HALion Sonic Iconica Sketch and routed all my midi channels into it as seen.

The problem is as seen in the screenshot is that the modulation (dynamic) keeps automatically setting itself to ppp which means that I can’t hear it. I manually moved the mod wheel within HALion Sonic but it reset itself back to 0. I then manually wrote in dynamics on CC1 to see if I could override whatever was going on, but it still set itself to 0.

Any ideas?

I just managed to fix it by hard setting the modulation from the start of the song but it means my dynamics no longer work.

I’m very new to Dorico so not sure how it works, are Dynamics always ornamental? Will I always need to end up changing the actual CC1 level anyways?

From your top picture it looks like you have muted all instruments. So little wonder there is silence. :wink:

I did that during the screenshot, however they definitely weren’t when I was trying to play it back!

Normally reapplying the playback template will resolve sound issues (Play>Playback template… apply and close)
