Iconica Sketch on iPad Air

Hi All,

I recently bought a new iPad Air (full licence) and I installed Iconic Sketch on it. To be short, I’m having a devil of a time getting the sounds to line up with the tracks correctly. I’ve checked the channel setup in both programs many times but the playback is just weird. I’ll get a flute track set up and seemingly stable, then move to work on the bass track but when I play both together the flute track might be playing with a violin sound while the bass track plays maybe two notes but with the flute sound?!! Are there any reliable tutorials on this? Using general MIDI is too awful to be attempted.

thanks, AR

Are you using Dorico in note input mode (Write Mode) or are you using the piano roll to input your music?

I’m using Dorico on an iPad in Write mode.

I just ran a test with my iPad Dorico installation:

Iconica Sketch does not contain a bass instrument by itself, so Dorico uses the GM sound. This can be switched to Iconica Sketch “Basses” - which is, I guess, an upright double bass, played with a bow:

For clarification, Iconica Sketch is called “Built-in” in Play Mode of the iPad version.

I am a bit confused, when you are talking about two programs. Iconica Sketch is integrated part of Dorico on iPad (if you have the life-long license enabled). It does not show up as separate program, it even does not obviously show up in Dorico, as it is just called “Built-in” and is set as default playback.

Your problems might arise from the fact that you have a separate standalone version of Iconica Sketch (purchased and) installed on your iPad. That is not necessary.

This is exactly what’s happening kb! Many thanks. Now I have to try to get my $$$ back after buying the stand alone Iconica Sketch.
